Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 October 2026.

This policy explains how the Oropus team handles information when you visit oropus.com or www.oropus.com, generate speech, contact us, subscribe to updates or support the project. For privacy requests, email contact.satwara@gmail.com.

1. Information we handle

  • Studio content: scripts, selected voices, generation settings, generated audio, captions, job status and temporary recording identifiers.
  • Contact inquiries: your name, email, optional website and company, message, and submission time.
  • Newsletter requests: email address, consent time, source, confirmation status and confirmation/unsubscribe identifiers.
  • Accounts: where enabled, account details and authentication/session records. Account passwords are stored as hashes, not as readable passwords.
  • Technical data: IP addresses and request, browser, security or error information needed for delivery, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. Infrastructure providers may also process this information.

Please avoid submitting passwords, payment details, confidential documents or sensitive personal information in scripts or contact messages.

2. Why we use information

We use information to provide speech and downloads, maintain temporary recording history, answer inquiries, manage requested subscriptions, authenticate accounts, prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems. Contact inquiries do not subscribe you to marketing. Newsletter confirmation is required when email confirmation is enabled. Where a particular legal basis is required, it may include providing a requested service, your consent, security and service-operation interests, or compliance with legal obligations, depending on the processing and applicable law.

3. Speech and infrastructure providers

The active speech service uses Microsoft Edge voices; your requested script and voice settings are sent to the speech service to produce audio. Provider processing is governed by its own policy, including Microsoft's Privacy Statement. We do not run a model-training pipeline on submitted scripts.

Oropus uses Hostinger for server hosting and Cloudflare for website delivery, cached public previews and security. The current application server is in Germany; Cloudflare and other providers may process requests internationally. Public prebuilt preview clips are separate from visitor-generated recordings.

4. Security verification

Forms and protected actions use Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce spam and abuse. Turnstile processes browser and connection signals as described in the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Security checks are not a guarantee that all malicious activity can be prevented.

5. Email and support payments

Contact and subscription alerts are delivered to contact.satwara@gmail.com through Google's email service. A subscriber's email address is used to send confirmation and requested updates. Email providers may retain delivery and security records under their own policies.

The donation widget and optional support link use Buy Me a Coffee. Loading its widget may disclose technical request data to that provider. Payments are handled by Buy Me a Coffee and its payment partners; Oropus does not collect your full payment-card details through the studio or contact form. Their policies govern payment information.

6. Cookies and browser storage

The site uses browser storage for preferences such as theme, studio state and preview caching. A visitor identifier supports access to temporary recordings. Authentication and security use cookies where needed. Third-party security and donation services may use their own cookies or storage. You can clear site data or control cookies in your browser, but some functions may stop working.

7. Retention

Public visitor recordings and their access history expire after approximately one hour. A periodic cleanup removes eligible files and records; an outage may delay physical deletion. Downloaded files and browser copies remain under your control. Public preview clips are retained for reuse and caching.

Contact messages, newsletter consent and confirmation records, account information, delivery queues and relevant security records may be retained as needed to provide the requested service, handle follow-up, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations. They are not covered by the one-hour recording expiry. Protected backups may retain copies beyond deletion from the active system until those backups are retired. We do not promise immediate removal from every provider, cache or backup.

8. Sharing and disclosure

We share information with providers as needed to deliver the requested service and with authorized team members who handle support or administration. We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security or rights claims. We do not sell contact inquiries or newsletter subscriber lists.

9. Your choices and requests

You can stop using the studio, avoid optional support payments, clear browser storage, or ask to stop newsletter communications. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to an appropriate regulator. Send requests to contact.satwara@gmail.com with enough information to identify the relevant records. We may verify your identity and retain information where permitted or required by law.

10. Security and children

We use measures including encrypted connections, access controls and protected credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security. The service is not directed at children who cannot lawfully consent to the relevant processing; parents or guardians can contact us about information submitted by a child.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when service practices change. Review the effective date for the current version. Questions, deletion requests and privacy concerns can be submitted through Contact Us or contact.satwara@gmail.com.
